Art and Earth Day celebrated at Pyramid Hill

Pyramid Hill is excited to announce programming for this year’s Art & Earth Day.

On Saturday, April 24th, visitors of Pyramid Hill are invited to attend Art & Earth Day – a celebration of Arbor Day, Earth Day, and International Sculpture Day. This celebration of art and nature is free to the public from 9AM – 5PM, including free admission to the Ancient Sculpture Museum.

“I am already looking forward to April 24! It is exciting to be able to celebrate Arbor Day, Earth Day, and International Sculpture Day at Pyramid Hill, with the greening trees and plants, the lengthening days, and the monumental sculptures all around,” explains Dr. Lee Sanders, Pyramid Hill’s Interim Director. “There will be all kinds of activities—art to observe and to participate in. It is usually the perfect time to enjoy Spring; this year it will be particularly welcome after the stress of the previous 12 months. We invite everyone to come ‘hang out’ with art, in nature!”

This year’s Art & Earth Day celebration includes programming scheduled throughout the entire day. Pyramid Hill will be hosting guided hikes, a special Happy Hour at the Fretboard Beer Garden, an artist walk in partnership with students from the University of Cincinnati, a reception for the current exhibition Out of the Darkness, a free yoga class presented by Imagination Yoga, an “en plein air” art competition juried by local artist and educator Daniel Bonham and the Contemporary Art Center’s Spring Family Festival at the Grand Pavilion.

“The Contemporary Arts Center is thrilled to partner with Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park for their Art and Earth Day celebration,” says Elizabeth Hardin-Klink, Creative Learning Director at the CAC. “Attention to the environment and a focus on sustainable practice are core tenants of the CAC's mission and we look forward to participating in this exciting event.”

Guests are invited to attend any or all events throughout the day. To maintain a safe, socially-distanced event for our community, Pyramid Hill will be implementing a “one in, one out” policy on cars entering the park once the event reaches maximum capacity. Masks will be required in all indoor facilities including the Visitor Center and the Ancient Sculpture Museum.
