New Scientist Live Is Back in London for an October weekend

NEW SCIENTIST LIVE IS BACK WITH A BRAND-NEW FORMAT COMBINING THE BEST OF LIVE AND VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES

7-9 October 2022 at ExCeL London


New Scientist Live, the world’s greatest festival of ideas and discoveries, returns to ExCeL London this October.

With over 50 renowned speakers across five stages and new interactive feature areas, the show is jam-packed with content and experiences to take you on an incredible, mind-blowing journey of discovery. Hear ground-breaking talks from leading experts, visit the exhibition featuring leading academic institutions and world-class organisations, and join workshops, all brought to you by those shaping the world of science and technology.

EXPERT SPEAKERS ACROSS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

At New Scientist Live 2022, you will get the chance to hear talks from some of the most recognised names in science including Patrick Vallance (Government Chief Scientific Adviser), astronomer Martin Rees, UCL Physicist Helen Czerski, scientist and broadcaster Adam Rutherford and geologist Chris Jackson. They will be sharing their expertise on topics including the biggest number in the world, the smallest particles in the Universe, the fate of our planet, the history of our brains and the science of exploding stars.


FEATURE AREAS FOR 2022

Are you intrigued to see how a hospital might look in 50 years’ time or how a patient visit will be? Join a host of medical experts from King's College London who will be showcasing cutting-edge technology that will power the hospitals of the future. You can immerse yourself in the latest developments from surgical robots to augmented reality, Artificial Intelligence to VR, and see how the latest medical innovations are being used by world-class clinicians to improve diagnosis and treatment.


If you think farming is unrelated to science and uses traditional technology, then join Farmers Weekly to hear how British firms are leading the world in sustainability, the future of food and agriculture along with the latest drone technology that will power it, to help tackle climate change.


One feature not to be missed is the immersive pop-up planetarium. See what it takes to become an astronaut and let the inspiration take you to new places you could never have imagined.

MIND AND BODY STAGE

If you are intrigued to learn more about the human body, then join the Mind and Body Stage as we delve into fascinating topics about the design faults of our bodies, the history of our brains and how our immune systems fight disease. Discover amazing research to help you live a happier, healthier life.


UNIVERSE STAGE

Get answers to some of the most fundamental questions in science, from the structure of matter to the discovery of the Higgs boson. Hear about the hidden universe, the science of exploding stars and the physics experiments that changed the world.


A DEDICATED SCHOOLS’ DAY

The opening day of the show, Friday 7 October, will be exclusive to teachers and students, who will have the opportunity to see an incredible line up of brilliant speakers to inspire young minds about the wonders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students can discover a host of mind-blowing features and interactive areas, as well as learning and seeing more about the massive range of careers STEM can offer.
