Who we are-NatureVolve is a creative scicomm magazine, currently publishing content online in a digital magazine and on our site blog. Our aim is in combining scientific research and art to share ideas with the public; helping promote the work of both scientific researchers and artists, while informing a wider adult educated community about topics of interest in science and nature. This content comes in the form of written articles, and the display of graphics. In addition to sharing content, our second aim is in bridging a community between scientists and artists by having both respective fields publish content together on our platforms, and to merge art and science with the the underlying topic of interest in nature. We aim to leverage public communications for the community of scientists and artists who have content to share.
-
What we need & what we do with it We need to have subscribers to join our community and be the readership audience of the digital magazine. To do this, we need subscribers' email addresses to be contacted via email. Additional information such as full name are used to address you appropriately during contact by email; while location (country), occupation, organisation and classification (as artist, scientist, artist/scientist or other) are data optional for you to provide, though are used by us to understand the diversity of our community. We also need subscribers to contribute their own content in cases where they have expressed their interest to be featured in the digital magazine. Unlike the digital magazine, which is directed to only our subscribers, the blog itself is open to the public and can be read by non-subscribers. For the blog, we record the numbers of page views, and shares of the articles, though we do not collect subscribers to make up the readership of the blog. The content featured on the blog is independent of the content featured in the digital magazine, except in cases where contributors to the digital magazine have agreed to have their article highlighted in the blog as well as the digital magazine.
